Baren “Skip” Healey
A memorial service for Skip Healey will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church of Davis.
Skip was born on February 7, 1934 to Burke Healey and Dorothy Wentz Healey in Phoenix, Arizona. He passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012, in Davis, at the age of 78.
Skip first came to Davis in 1949. He bought the Flying L Ranch with his brother Burke Healey. While operating the ranch, he attended Davis High School. On December 27, 1955, Skip and Leslie Sue Hill were married, and began a journey together that lasted 56 years.
Skip was a cattleman, an oilman, a pilot, a lifelong Republican, and an honorary member of the Fire Department of his beloved town of Davis. He joined the First United Methodist Church of Davis in 1958.
Skip was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother and niece.
Skip is survived by his wife, Sue; his son Colt Healey, Colt’s wife Sherry and their daughters Heather, Alexa and Diana Healey; his son Clay Healey, Clay’s wife Holly and their children Chase and Trey Healey and Valerie and Elizabeth Farabee; his daughter Casey Killblane, Casey’s husband Hugh and their children Trevor and Paxton Killblane, a sister-in-law, five nephews and a niece.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the First United Methodist Church of Davis, the Davis Firefighters Association or the Davis Public School Foundation.
