Funeral services for Annie Belle Lee will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, Nov 2, 2013 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Sulphur with Rev. Gary Doty officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.

Annie was born Sept 17, 1924 in Sulphur to Terry Lee and Myrtle Beatrice (Crouse) Billings. She died Wednesday, Oct 30, 2013 in Sulphur, at the age of 89. Annie and Warren Monroe Lee were married on July 6, 1940 in Sulphur. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1989.

Annie grew up in Sulphur where she attended school. After she married, she and Warren made their home in Kiowa from 1952 until 1984, when they returned to Sulphur. Annie worked as a cook at the Sulphur Veteran’s Center from 1984 until her retirement in 1997. She was an avid gardener and in her spare time she enjoyed quilting, playing bingo, and was even known to play a slot machine any chance she got.

Survivors include six daughters, Gloria Bowman & husband Lynn of Sulphur, Brenda Russell & late husband Ron also of Sulphur, Denna Mays & husband Calvin of Guthrie, Kathey Van Dell & husband Wayne of Ramona, CA, Leta Blagg & husband Rickey of Gause, TX and Sandy Bowen & husband Brian of Corinth, TX; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Others preceding her in death include her parents, five brothers, 4 sisters and an infant daughter, Flora Bell.
