Angie L. Turner

Angie L. Turner was born October 23, 1938 to Fred William and Ethel (Farris) Martin in Cloud Chief, Oklahoma. She died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, April 9, 2012 in Sulphur at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 16 days.

Born the daughter of depression era parents, Angie studied and worked hard helping those not able to have a voice of their own. She received a master’s degree from East Central University and worked for Child Welfare Department of Social Services as a social worker until retirement. After retiring, she moved to Sulphur.

Following the death of her husband, Glenn Ward in 2003, Angie and Lester Turner were married on August 11, 2007 in Milan County, Texas and they made their home in Sulphur. Angie had a small but very loving family; she was a loving mother and wife and always had a pet. She enjoyed travelling, always hunting for a “bargain”. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur.

Angie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Glenn Ward.

She is survived by her husband, Lester Turner of the home and son, Gerald Finder of Regents Park, Australia.

Services are 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Hale's Krien Memorial Chapel in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Interment will following in Lightning Ridge Cemetery near Roff, Oklahoma.
