Funeral services for Adalene Rhodes will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, July 17, 2020 at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis, with Brother Thomas Thompson officiating.
Adalene was born November 23, 1937 in Kansas City, KS to the late George F. and Viva Vey (Hackathorn) Curtis. She died Friday, July 10, 2020 in Sulphur, at the age of 82 years 7 months and 17 days.
Adalene grew up in Kansas City, graduating from Kansas City High School, class of 1955. After her son, James, was grown, she returned to college 1992, to obtain a degree in business. In 2012, Adalene move to Davis where she quickly became friends with many. She was a very kind individual, that others simply enjoyed being around. Adalene spent ten years working as a loan coordinator for the First National Bank of Davis, prior to retirement. She was active with the Davis Chamber of Commerce, BP&W and several area clubs and organizations.
Survivors include her son, Dr, James P. Rhodes, II of Davis; one granddaughter, Madison Leigh Rhodes; one great-granddaughter, Kinsley Grace Rhodes; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Adalene was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles E. Curtis, George F. “Bud” Curtis, JR. and Edmund S. Curtis; six sisters, Reba May Curtis, Glenndora R. Jones, Gertrude F. Belt, Viva V. Haney, Mary Rozella Ray, Stella E. Rutledge Broadhead and Freda M. Broadhead; as well as four nephews and 2 nieces.
