Erroll Eivind “Eppie” Eppeland was born February 9, 1939 in Los Gatos, California to the late Norman & Naomi (Fowler) Eppeland. He died Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 24 days. Erroll and the former Ms. Sandra Lee Slaughter were married on November 29, 2015 in Sulphur.
Erroll, better known by many as “Eppie”, grew up in Darfur, MN, graduating from Comfrey High School. He spent 48 years as a cross country truck driver. After retiring from driving a truck, he spent four years working for Murray County District 1 Commissioner. Eppie was a motorcycle enthusiast. He loved riding his motorcycles every chance he could. He attended countless biker rallies with friends and family; often being the life of the party. Although his demeanor was that of a rough and tough biker guy, Eppie ultimately had a soft, caring heart; not only for his family and friends, but for animals as well. He will be remembered for his quick wit and his ability to make those around him laugh.
Survivors include his wife Sandy; one son, Erik Eppeland and wife Pam; two grandchildren, Seth and Bethany Eppeland; sister, Rosalie Shapard; five step-children, Brad Jacobson, Jason Harper, Stephen Harper, Sarah Martin and Lisa Eubanks; as well as seven step-grandchildren, Justice, Justin, Destiny, Angel & Trystan Harper, Kayla & Jacob Martin.
Per Eppie’s wishes, no formal services will be held. At a later date, the family will host an “Eppie style” gathering in his memory.
